About Us
Humidity was created to provide local athletes and the San Juan community with a high end athlete recovery day spa that is functional and affordable. Our concept is blending a day spa atmosphere with the space and services of a professional athletic training room. Our layout is an open floor plan that allows you the freedom to explore many different recovery tools.
Our facility is membership based. Members have access to tradition and infrared saunas, hot/cold tubs, rp sports recovery compression boot lounge, vibeplate, as well as many other active and passive modalities. Although Humidity is a open concept day spa, members do have the ability to schedule/reserve their recovery sessions online.
Examples of a recovery protocol could include:
30 minutes relaxing in our recovery boot lounge, 15 minute session in the hot or cold tubs, followed by 30 minuntes in one of our saunas.
30 minutes relaxing in our recovery lounge, active recovery exercises on the vibe plate, and use of mobility tools
30 minutes in one of our saunas followed by contrast therapy with our hot and cold tubs.
Need a little extra? We have add-on services to make your experience even better
Add a 30 minute or 1 hour massage
Add 20 minutes of Focused soft tissue therapy (soft tissue work/stretching combo)
REST
Athletes understand the importance of exercise training for optimal performance. However, rest and recovery is also an important aspect of any exercise program because it allows the body time for soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments) repair and the removal of chemicals that build up as a result of cell activity during exercise. It also allows the athlete to recover, both physically and psychologically.
Our facility is the perfect place to rest and relax. Our recovery pump lounge is equipped with zero gravity chairs; you have the choice of three saunas, and of course soaking in a hot or cold tub. Bring a book or your favorite music, sit back, and let our equipment and services melt your stresses away.
RECOVER
Short-term recovery, occurs in the hours immediately after intense exercise. Active recovery refers to engaging in low-intensity exercise after workouts during both the cool-down phase immediately after a workout as well as during the days following the workout.
Long-term recovery techniques refer to those that are built into a seasonal training program. Most well-designed training schedules will include recovery days and or weeks that are built into an annual training schedule. This is also the reason athletes and coaches change their training program throughout the year, add cross-training, modify workouts types, and make changes in intensity, time, distance, and all the other training variables.
Our recovery tools help your body recover faster and with less effort.
PERFORM
Recovery from exercise training is an integral component of a overall training/sport program and is essential for optimal performance and improvement. If the rate of recovery is improved, higher training volumes and intensities are possible without the detrimental effects of overtraining. Our goal is to speed up your recovery process, decrease the chance of injuries, and let you focus on the task and training that is needed for you to perform at optimal levels.
You have done all the right things. You have put in the time, You have stayed up late and woken up early. You have skipped parties and social events; spent weekends training. You have given your body the correct fuel for the work ahead. You have let your body recover with the proper recovery routine and now its time to put all that preparation, dedication, and hard work into motion. Its time to perform!
